I think it stupid for blind people to have their own snack dawer because we should be just as independt as people who can see

If I put a label on a drawer in the kitchen that says "Snack Drawer", does that say anything about me other than that I like labeling things and having a specific place for my snacks? No.

What's wrong with a person having a designated area for snacks? It doesn't seem like a very big deal to me. And, if my parents or someone else wants to bring me a snakc, they're more than welcome to. I do it for others. I like to bake, and therefore, I bake things for family and friends, and give them the treats. Is that wrong? I don't think so.

my point is that people shouldn't have a separate snack drawer from the rest of the family

I just do not think blind people should have there own snack chore to them selfs. When there mommy comes in and fills it up for them so they can find it. I mean come on.

Post 16 by shea (number one pulse checking chicky) on Thursday, 13-Dec-2007 19:13:16

oh my gosh. if there mommy wants to give them there own snack drawer than so be it. what the hell does that have to do with being blind? i kno lots of people that have snack drawers and are sighted. lol come on people get off your blindy soap box!

i think your just jealous your mommy didn't make you one. hehehehehehhe smiles, shea

And to think: all that time wasted railing against snack chores (whatever the hell those are) could have been spent on basic grammar and proof-reading skills. I dare say your constant streams of incoherence say far more about you than having a dedicated snack space ever could. Oh yeah, and I gree with Chris and Shae.

yah but the whole point is that as a family just because one person can't see doesn't mean that they themselves need a drawer the whole family could have one but for one person come on

Maybe Mom has her own snack drawer.

Post 21 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Friday, 14-Dec-2007 16:26:01

We don't have snack drawers or anything for individual persons in our family, including me. I just have to explore the bread cupboard, dried bits and pieces cupboard and/or the cereals cupboard plus the fridge and/or freezer every time I want a snack. If and when mum buys those multi bags of crisps and things they live tucked down by the side of the fridge. Our kitchen's quite a size and has an awful lot of cupboard and drawer space for all kinds of food, but I still don't have my own snack drawer. I mean, why on earth would any VI person think they needed their own snack drawer? Bloody ridiculous if you ask me.

My mom usually tells me where everything is so I can find it easily and sometimes, not. So go exploring and see what you can find.

If I want snacks, I buy the snacks.
